    Honored by:

    Commander Drake entered flight training with the U.S. Navy in August 1979 and was designated a Naval Aviator in 1981. Commander Drake accumulated over 4,000 flight hours in his career flying the S-3A Viking, TA4J Skyhawk and EA-6B Prowler. He has flown over 450 arrested landings (half at night) during his career on board USS Lexington, USS Independence, USS Constellation, USS Enterprise and USS Nimitz.
    Commander Drake retired from active duty in July 1999 and is now teaching Joint Maritime Operations for the U.S. Naval War College at its program office in Monterey, CA.
