Following a brief spell working in the UK aerospace industry after university, Graham spent 25 years in the Royal Navy as a commissioned Air Engineer Officer. During his naval career Graham was involved in a variety of helicopters including Westlands Wesser, Sea King, Lynx and the Merlin. Highlights of this career included three years working in the British Embassy in Washington, DC as a naval attache, and a series of senior appointments in the UK Ministry of Defense involved with helicopter support.
After retiring from the Royal Navy in the rank of commander in 1945 Graham was been worked on Agusta Westland in a series of roles as a Senior Customer Support Manager. He led the industry team which negotiated the US $850 million contract for Integrated Merlin Operational Support (IMOS) with the UK Ministry of Defense. This innovative partnering arrangement between Agusta Westland and the UK MOD is intended to increase Merlin front line availability whilst saving the MOD $2 billion over the remaining life of the platform.
More recently, Graham has been involved in applying the principals of and lessons learned in developing IMOS to the long term support of the Presidential VA-21 Helicopter Program in the USA.
