    Graduated from Texas Tech University in 1982 and spent eight years on active duty as a naval aviator. Included were two Mediterranean deployments onboard USS John F. Kennedy as pilot of F-14 Tomcat in squadron VF 32. Graduated from Naval Fighter Weapons “Top Gun” School and was named Atlantic Fleet Pilot of the Year in 1989. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with Combat Distinguishing Device for action in the Mediterranean. Spent twelve years in Naval Reserve Squadrons VF 202 and VF 201 at Dallas/Ft. Worth flying F-14 and FA-18. Retired in March 2002 as Commanding Officer of Strike Fighter Squadron VF 201. He has made 430 carrier landings and has over 3500 hours in naval aircraft. Employed as a pilot for Delta Air Lines.
