    Commander Lisenby is a native of Geneva, Alabama. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama and was commissioned a Marine Corps Second Lieutenant in 1984 through the Marine Corps Platoon Leader's Class. He completed the Basic School at Quantico, Virginia In 1986 and received a direct commission as a Navy Ensign. Commander Lisenby was designated a Naval Aviator in June 1986.

    After initial Fleet Replacement Squadron training, Commander Lisenby was assigned to Patrol Squadron One at Naval Air Station Barbers Point, Hawaii. There he served as an Operations Flight Officer, NATOPS Instructor Pilot, Nuclear Safety Officer, and Personnel Officer. During this tour, he completed deployments to Misawa, Japan, Adak, Alaska, and Cubi Point, Republic of the Phillippines.

    Commander Lisenby's next assignment was Patrol Squadron THIRTY ONE at NAS Moffett Field, California where he was designated Fleet Replacement Squadron Instructor Pilot. While at VP-31, he served as Aviation Safety Officer, P-3 PQS Program Manager, NATOPS Standardization Pilot, and Flight Demonstration Pilot. In 1993, Commander Lisenby reported to Bureau of Personnel, Sea Duty Component, Dallas, Texas where he served as Operations Officer, Safety/NATOPSS officer, and Administrative Officer.

    Following P-3C refresher training in 1995, he reported for his department head tour in Patrol Squadron One at Whidbey Island, Washington. During this tour, he served as Maintenance Officer, Training Officer, and Safety/NATOPS Officer, while completing deployments to Diego Garcia, BIOT and Misawa, Japan.

    In 1998, Commander Lisenby reported to Commander, Patrol and Reconnaissance Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet where he served as Current Operations Officer and later as Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations. During this tour be earned a Master of Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle University. Prior to reporting to Patrol Squadron FORTY SEVEN, Commander Lisenby attended the Naval War Cottage, earning a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies.

    Commander Lisenby's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, two Navy Commendation Medals, two Navy Achievement Medals, and various other campaign and service awards.
