Tom was a USN fighter pilot on the Enterprise in Fighter Squadron 6 when World War II started. He was in all the major battles, escorted Jimmy Doolittle, and came back to Pensacola to train fighter and carrier pilots in 1943.
We married in June 1944 just before he went back out on the Wasp. He received two Distinguished Flying Crosses and five Air Medals.
After several commands he became a test pilot at Patuxent River in 1950. He was co-pilot of that first twin engine fighter plane F3D2 and it exploded right over the base.
He left me with three wonderful little girls, ages, 5, 3 and 2 and a baby on the way, our first son. Tom, is in Arlington Cemetery.
Five years later I got them a fine new father that knew all about Tom. By then the children were 10, 8, 7 and 5. He has helped me get all kinds of memorabilia to the Navy Museum in Pensacola. Tom is on their flight log at the museum, and we want his name on the Wall of Honor. He got his wings in 1940, left us on August 16, 1951.

Wall of Honor profiles are provided by the honoree or the donor who added their name to the Wall of Honor. The Museum cannot validate all facts contained in the profiles.
