    Mr. Carroll H. Podhasky

In 1942 I left Valley State College to go work for Lockheed Aircraft. After a short period, I was transferred to Dow Field in Bangor, Maine, where I worked as a factory tech rep for P38s. I then went to Love Field in Dallas and stayed there until I was called into the service in the Army Air Corps in 1944.
After discharge, I worked for a short time with California Aircraft doing work for the move studios. I started working for United Air Lines in 1949, at Chicago’s Midway Airport. While continuing to work for UAL, I worked in Los Angeles and San Francisco flying the Korean Air Lift. I moved to Washington State, flying Seattle – JFK in DC 7s, 7 µ hours eastbound and 8 ½ hours westbound.
In 1960 I was loaned to Japan Air Lines and flew the DC7-C route from Seattle – Anchorage – Tokyo – Hong Kong – Singapore. During the mid-1960s I flew the Vietnam Air Lift.
Then, I returned to UAL and flew Chicago to Honolulu – 9 hours westbound and 8 hours eastbound. I lived in Seattle and commuted to ORD for 11 years. I retired at 60 with over 32 years flying experience.
