Cecilia M. Nickel married Herman K. Nickel, USAF (Ret.) in Philadelphia, PA on November 3rd, 1946. Cecilia passed away on June 20th, 2001. She is buried at Mt. Tahoma National Cemetery in Washington.
Un-Traditional women - "The Military Spouse": the woman behind the Veteran, behind the gun, uncomplaining, always maintaining a safe haven for her Veteran's return. From the East coast, to the West coast, from the far East to the European continent, again and again, setting up, tearing down, setting up a clean, safe home for her Veteran's return. Raising the children, many times alone, miles away from family and friends; and when asked, "How's it going?" Replying with a smile, “Fine." This is the true unsung Hero. Always ready with her full support to the one that gives his support to protect and defend the freedom of the USA.
