I began my career in aviation in the military as a plane captain on the Corsair (F4U-13) in the Marine Corps at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) El Toro in 1949. Went to Korea with Marine Squadron VMF-214 (Black Sheep) until November 1951. Served on staff of Marine Reserve Station in St Louis, MO until 1953.

Then was transferred to MCAS Cherry Point, NC where I served with VMFN 531 squadron (F3D) Sky Knight. Served on general staff with the Second Marine Air Wing, First Marine Air Wing in Iwo Kuni, Japan.

Recruiting duty and retired in 1976 from the Regimental staff of the Sixth Marine Regiment 2nd Division. After retirement I have been teaching aircraft maintenance from 1977 to 1992. Worked in heavy maintenance FO (PDS) on Boeing 737 and 727 in Phoenix, AZ.

In 2000 I came to Fayetteville, AR and have been teaching aircraft maintenance at Arkansas Aviation Technology Center. I am now 73 years old and will still be teaching young men and women aviation maintenance when I turn 100, with God's help!
