AC Spark Plug Div. GM Corp. Milwaukee, WI. June 1951 - Jan. 1952
QC Engineer, Designed and built and test instrument for amplifier racks of K4A
    bombing navigation computer system.

Jan. 1952 - assigned to Radar school at MacDill AFB Tampa, FL. to modify the K4A computer/stable gyro platform Bombing and Navigation system to work with the British built World War II sonic radar flight simulator. I got the K4A system working with the Radar Simulator signal. I taught classes to pilots and navigators/bombardiers on the new B47 Stratojet bomber to operate and maintain the K4A system and the radar and optical bomb-sight. I received a letter of commendation from the Air Force for this work. In June of 1953, I was "embedded" with the 306th Bombardment Wing of the Strategic Air Command USAF to Fairford RAF station, England where I set up the flight simulator. The flight simulator was to train the 306th flight crews to bomb Moscow, Leningrad and other targets. In June 1953 President Eisenhower sent his Secretary of State, Dulles, to tell Stalin and Molotov that if they did not stop their Russian Air Force from shooting down USAF B29 Bombers and fighter planes, in the Korean Conflict, he would direct the US Air Force to bomb Moscow and Leningrad. It was very obvious that the USAF B47 bombers of the 306th Bomb Wing, Strategic Air Command USAF were in England within range of Moscow and Leningrad. That brought the Korean Conflict to a truce that still stands. I returned to the US with the 306th Bomb Wing on August 30, 1953. I was assigned to 40th SAC bombardment Wing at Smokey Hill AFB in Jan of 1954. In Jan. 1955 I was inducted into the US Army. After Infantry Basic Training I was assigned to the Chemical Corps. working with Chemical, biological and radiological (CBR) weaponry.

    GE Comp. January 1957 - 1969
Worked in GE Re-entry Vehicle (R/V) section in Phila. PA. as a test engineer on MK2 and MK3 R/Vs for the Thor & Atlas Ballistic Missiles. I was Program Engineer on the MK6 R/V for the Titan II Ballistic Missile; Project Engineering Manager on the MK12 R/V for the Minuteman III missile, Multiple Independently Targeted R/V programs and Peacekeeper Missile programs. I consulted on early spy and resource satellites and experimental satellites and space programs. GE's science work on various types of re-entry materials and space satellites data recovery is recognized by a land mark AIAA sponsored historic plaque at the 32 rd and Chestnut Street Philadelphia Building. GE Missile and Space Division received a letter of commendation from the Secretary of the Air Force for performance on the MK6 Titan II Ballistic Missile Program. The GE data Capsule recovered in air (a first) from the Corona spy satellite program was presented to President Eisenhower. That GE Spy satellite Corona program data capsule recovery was the catalyst to start the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) that recently celebrated its 50th Anniversary at the Udvar- Hazy Smithsonian Air and Space Museum near Dulles, Va. We attended that celebration where recently declassified spy satellites were displayed. Many of GE Missile and Space Division products have been on display at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museums in DC and Virginia.

I was Subcontract Engineering Manager for the Maned Orbiting Laboratory Program.
