Chuck has served in several branches of the United States military, beginning with the Marine Corps from 1965 through 1969. As a member of the Corps, he honorable fulfilled a tour of duty in Vietnam where he was involved in security and artillery.

He served in the US Air Force for a total of 10 years, retiring in February 2001.

He started flying at the Connell, Washington air strip. He received a pilot's license for private and commercial use. Chuck then received his flight instructor's license in Greely, Colorado. He was a flight instructor for private and commercial pilots in Ogden, Utah.

He is currently in the Air Force Reserves and is employed at Hill Air Force Base, Utah where he works on various aircraft equipment, including the KC-135, KC-10, F-16, and F-15. As a reservist, he has loaded and unloaded many types of aircraft. He is also cross-trained in administration and transportation. His family is very proud of him!
