Charles Nickels 1902-1968
Charles name has been placed on the National Air and Space Museum's wall of honor because , from early childhood, his passion was flight. He was from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and became one of Luxembourg's first licensed pilots. He was an Officer in the flight club "L'Aerodrome D'Esch". He became an American citizen in 1961. He spoke many times of wishing to go far enough out in space to look back at the complete earth. Today, he would be very happy to know that Americn astronauts did that.
