ENERGY TECHNOLOGY ENGINEERING CENTER (1980 to Present)

Dr. Faulders is a Project Engineer for the Department of Energy (DOE) Geothermal Loan Guarantee Program, with responsibility for technical monitoring of the Ormesa Geothermal Power Plant now under construction. He was also responsible for monitoring the Niland Geothermal Project prior to termination thereof in mid-1985. His effort includes evaluations of project management, engineering design and construction, wellfield development and project economics. He manages subcontractors, as required, to provide financial, reservoir engineering and other specialized consulting services.

He previously managed ETEC's technical monitoring effort on the Superior Oil Company Cooperative Agreement with the DOE for design of a surface oil shale demonstration plant. He also assisted in monitoring the management elements of the project including cost and schedule control procedures and methods of reporting. Subsequent to the Superior project, which ran from mid-1980 to mid-1983, he participated in a technical assistance task for the Laramie Project Office of the DOE.

    ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP (1976-1980)

Dr. Faulders was a member of the marketing group from 1977 to 1980 and was responsible for marketing plans, customer contacts and preparation of proposals for fossil energy systems, including coal gasification and liquefaction, and for marketing tasks for ESG geothermal programs. Earlier he was Project Manager for industrial energy conservation programs.

    SPACE DIVISION (1954-1976)

Dr. Faulders was a Project Engineer for Energy Programs from 1973 to 1976. Previous assignments included Manager of Flight Sciences and Manager of Systems Engineering, Research and Engineering; Manager of Flight Sciences, Paraglider Program; and Supervisor of Aerothermodynamics, Navaho and advanced missile programs. From 1960 to 1962 he served on the faculty of the Universite d'Aix - Marseille, France, while on leave from the Division.
