Chester was an aviation enthusiast all his life. However his life was cut short during WWII November 23, 1944 near Nortberg, Germany. He had started flight training in the USAAF, however with many of his classmates in early 1944was reassigned to the 18th Infantry 1st Infantry Division and was KIA just prior to the Battle of the Bulge Campaign... He was 21 years old at the time of his death
