    Clifford Schaefer was a technical sergeant in the US Army Anti-Aircraft Artillery from 1950 until 1953. He was on a train in the U.S. headed for Korea when the war ended. Following his time in the Army, Schaefer was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 45 years as a Group Supervisor, Foreman, and Working Leader in the Master Mechanic Dept. 37 Metrology Lab, Constant Temperature Room, inspecting tools, gages, precision equipment to tolerances of 5 millionths of an inch, and any equipment that requires tractability to the National Bureau of Standards in Washington. All above is to check accuracy of aviation parts delivered to customers to the dimensions required before delivery. Clifford Schaefer retired from Pratt & Whitney in January 2000.
