Clyde (Benford) Brown Jr. was a crop duster in the Mississippi delta who started agriculture flying 220 HP Stearman's in 1951 after leaving the Navy. He flew for H.C. Strider in Tallahatchie county in Mississippi. He then bought 2 airplates from Mr. Strider and started Brown's Flying Service and also farmed as well. He eventually built his fleet to 5 A-Model Ag-Cats and at one time worked 5000 acres of land. Also in the early 1960s, he had flying services in Ed Couch, Texas and Lake Charles, Louisiana. He loved flying and farming and was always dedictated to Ag Aviation and farming in the Mississippi Delta.
