While flying P-38 photo recon, aircraft was attacked by four Me-109s which severely damaged aircraft. A/C held together till home base. A/C had no hydraulics and out of fuel dead sticked A/C with film intact ( a second lieutenant at the time, on the second mission and just turned twenty years old.)
