CMSgt Henry L. Counts entered the Army in 1945, and served in the United States Air Force from its formation in 1947 until his retirement in 1975. He initially was a member of the 487th Aviation Squadron stationed at MacDill Field in Tampa, Florida. He served during the Korean and Viet Nam wars, later becoming an Aircrew Life Support Specialist. After retirement, he has become active with the MacDill AFB Retiree Activities program, where he is the Deputy Director of Operations. He and his wife Essie have six children.
