    SERVICE:
    * Enlisted in the US Navy after Pearl Harbor and graduation from high school in July 1943. After Basic Training at Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, served as Seaman at Balboa Park and Camp Pendelton, California and as Petty Officer 2nd Class in the Aleutians on the island of Attu. Discharged April 1946.
    * Attended Montana State University and received a commission through the ROTC program. In January 1949 received orders to report for pilot training at Randolph AFB (T-6) and Enid, Oklahoma (B-25).
    * Promoted to 1st Lt. Later became jet qualified at Randolph.
    * Stationed in:
    o Occupied Germany April 1950-April 1953 at 60th T.C. Wing, Rhine-Main AFB, Germany.
    o Travis AFB, California
    o Bitburg, Germany
    o Randolph AFB, Texas
    o HQ USAFE, Wiesbaden, Germany
    o HQ USAF Pentagon AFADS
    o Phan Rang, Vietnam
    o HQ USAF McClellan AFB, California AFADS
    o HQ Security Command, Kelly AFB, Texas.
    o Retired as Colonel May 1974.

    MEDALS:
    * Air Force Cross for extraordinary heroism in military operations against an opposing armed force as a C-123 aircraft commander in Southeast Asia.,
