    Calvin Victor Robinson was born in Bellaire, Ohio, on October 9, 1912. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp. in 1934 at
    Langley Field, Virginia. His first Sergeant was Sgt. Nero, who flew with Billy Mitchell. The first barracks he lived in at Langley, is still there today.
    He was every rank from private to full Col., except Buck Sgt. He was a Warrant Officer Instructor at OCS, at the outbreak of World War II. He was commissioned a Second Lt. in 1942. During the war, he served as the executive officer of the 365th fighter group, the famous Hell Hawks, of the Ninth Air Force. They flew P-47 Thunderbolts or Jug-Heads. The Hell Hawks were the first fighter group to land on and use French soil as their base, after D-Day.

    He was seriously injured when his plane crashed while trying to land at a runway at Orley Field in Paris, on December 16, 1944.
    At the end of World War II, he was assigned to the United Nations Observer team in Palestine. He served there under Ralph Bunche until 1948.
    Major Robinson was then stationed at the Air University at Tyndall Field, Florida.
    In 1950, He was an instructor at the Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama.
    In 1951, He was stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska,
    In 1952, while still stationed in Alaska, he wrote the book Squadron Administration, that is still in print today.
    In 1954, He was stationed at Langley AFB, Virginia.in 1955, 21 years after his enlistment, Col. Robinson was the Langley Air Force Base Commander.
    He retired in 1961, at the time of his retirement, he was the Head of Security for the Pacific Air Command, under CINCPOA, at Pearl Harbor Hickman Field, Hawaii. He Retired to his farm near Rixeyville, Virginia.

    During his retirement, he served as the Civil Defense Director and Public Safety Officer for Culpeper County, Virginia.
    Robby died at the San Antonio Air Force Hospital on March 18, 1975. Robby and his wife are buried in the Culpeper National Cemetery. His wife, Grayce Anderson Robinson died December 16, 1979..
    He was a great American.
    He was a great husband to Grayce Anderson Robinson.
    He was a great father to his sons, Barry and James Robinson.
    He was a great grandfather to all his grandchildren.

    Robby's two son's Barry and James, Wish he was alive today to see his 12 grandchildren, 32 great- grandchildren, 14 great great- grandchildren.
