    Colonel Charles A. Jones is a native of Rifle, Colorado. He entered the Air Force in 1961 as a distinguished Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps graduate from the University of Northern Colorado. Colonel Jones is a graduate from the University of Northern Colorado. Colonel Jones is a graduate of Squadron Officer School, Air Command and Staff College and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. He is a Master Navigator with more than 5000 flying hours in a variety of aircraft-B-52E; B-53G; B-58; C-130F and the high altitude reconnaissance RB-57F. His decorations include the Distinguished Flying Cross, Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Presidential unit Citation, Air Force outstanding unit award, Combat Readiness medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service medal with two bronze stars and the Republic of Vietnam campaign medal.
