    Enlisted U.S. Army Air Corps July 3, 1940. Entered Aviation Cadet training September, 1942. Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant, Pilot, July 29, 1943. Completed 30 bombing missions with, the 351st Bomb Group (Heavy) as a B-17 pilot May 8, 1944. Served total of 32 years 9 months, retiring in rank of Colonel April 30, 1973. Received a total of 22 awards and decorations including the Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross w/1 olc, the Bronze Star, the Air Medal w/4 olc. Served as Director of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering for 7th Air Force in Vietnam and 5th Air Force in Japan. Retired after serving as Director of Logistics for the 19th Air Division, 2nd Air Force. Logged total of 6000. flying hours in bomber aircraft including B-17, B-36, and B-52.
