Honored by:
Army aviator for 30 year career. Primary flight training at Camp Gary, San Marcos, Texas in 1958, advanced and instrument training at Ft Rucker, AL 1959. Helicopter rating 1966. Two Tours Vietnam: first Infantry Division 1965-66, First Cavalry Division/Delta Aviation Group 1971-72. Commanded 14th Combat Aviation Battalion at Fort Sill, OK with UH-1 (Huey) CH-47 (Chinook), CH-54 (Skycrane), AH-1 (Cobra) units assigned. Also flew H-13, OH-6, and OH-56 helicopters, and L-19, L-20, L-23, C-47/C-117 fixed wing extensively. Assigned Germany for four years, Guatemala for three years and various stateside posts.
