Col. Holmes fought (flew) in three wars, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam for the US. He was in the first group to fly the first fighter jet aircraft (F-80) at William AFB.
He served in the AF for 28 years flying fighter aircraft as well as bombers and transport aircraft when needed.
