    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:

When I was eight years old Charles Lindbergh came up my street in East Boston, MA sitting up in a touring car after returning from Paris. He waved to us and was on his way to Boston for the festivities due him. I then walked to the airport by myself and looked in the only tin hangar and saw the famous aircraft he flew to Paris. There wasn't a soul in sight! Even at my age, I remarked later to others that no one was guarding that beautiful aircraft. Thankfully, it wasn't vandalized in any way. That was a highlight in my life.

I had no idea about flying, but came the war and luckily I passed the exams to become an Air Force pilot, and I ended my career as a B-52 Command Pilot. I flew in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.
