    Col. George W. Kreamer first flew in a Curtis flying boat with an OX-5 engine in 1926 for five minutes. The aircraft which he flew for some eight thousand hours were: PT-17, BT-13, AT-6, 7, 10, 11; C-45, 47, 54, 78; B-17, 25, 36, 47, 57; F-80, 86, 100, 104; T-28, 33, 38; L-1, 2, 5, 15, Luscombe 85 and Piper Navajo. Entered U.S. Army Flight Training in December 1942. Trained at Maxwell AFA, Darr Aero Tech, Albany Georgia, Greenwood AAF and Columbus AAF Mississippi, Hendricks and Avon Park AAF, Florida. Flew 35 missions in World War II in B-17s with 352nd Bomb Squadron, 301st Bomb Group, 5th Wing, 15th Air Force, Foggia, Italy. Of these five were “Lone Wolf” missions, five squadron leads and ten group or deputy group leads.
    Discharged November 1945, served in various reserve units until 1951. Recalled Williams AFB and qualified as single engine flight instructor. Assigned 12th Air Force Hq from 1951-1953. Assigned to original 4th Allied Tactical Air Force until 1954. September 1954 assigned nuclear weapons test unit, Kirtland AFB, NM, 1954, 5 and 6. Moved to Eglin Air Proving Ground Command as Chief, Nuclear Weapons Plans until 1958. Next nine years HQ ARDC and USAF in various nuclear weapons positions. Participated in four Pacific nuclear test operations. Commanded King Salmon AFS 1968, Commanded Grenier AFB and Satellite Tracking Station 1968-72 Director Range Operations, Satellite Test Center, Sunnyvale, CA, 1972-74. Retired October 1974.
    Awarded: Legion of Merit. Distinguished Flying Cross, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal w 4 clusters, AF Commendation Medal with two clusters, 4 distinguished unit ribbons, various campaign and service ribbons and command pilot and master missile man.
