A thirty year career in the U. S. Air force (1956 – 1986) that began with research and development of jet engines and rocket propulsion and ended with space satellite development and launch operations. In between were a range of missile activities that sustained a strong military missile capability during the cold war. The progression included missile maintenance of the MACE Tactical Missile in Germany, missile launch operations of the Minuteman ICBM, Minuteman Operational Testing, and development of upgrades of the Minuteman Missile Weapon System. Involvement ran the gamut from jet and rocket planes to tactical and strategic missiles to space satellites and space launches.
