First commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army in June, 1954. Inter-service transfer to the U.S. Air Force and entered pilot training in November 1955. Served with the 1739 Ferry Squadron, Amarillo, TX 63rd Rescue Squadron, Norton AFB, CA, the 4th Air Transport Squadron McChord AFB, WA and 16 years with the 728th Military Airlift Squadron, Long Beach, March and Norton AFB and as Squadron CO the last 4 years. Retired after 5 years as Senior Air Operations Officer, CINCLANT HQ, Norfolk. Concurrent 30 year career with American Airlines.
