    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:

On 5 July 1968 and again on 10 Sep 1968, Major Joe C. Boyer distinguished himself by extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Aircraft Commander of a UC-123 in the Republic of Vietnam. On these dates, major Boyer was on low level defoliation missions against heavily defended hostile infiltration routes. His aircraft was struck with heavy and accurate hostile ground fire. With the loss of several aircraft systems, Major Boyer continued the missions with complete disregard for his own personal safety. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by major Boyer reflects great credit upon himself and the united States Air Force. 1 DFC/1 OLC.
