Highly decorated US Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Piloted the F4U Corsair during wartime and continued on in the USMC Reserve. His last assignment was as the commander of the helicopter squadron at South Weymouth Naval Air Station.

He worked as a test pilot for Boeing, Honeywell, and L.F.E. He also was an attorney in corporate and private practice. He was born and raised in Taunton, MA.
