“Les” Conwell served over 30 years as an Air Force Fighter Pilot flying aircraft ranging from the F-86 Sabre to the F-4 Phantom. After retiring in 1985, he continued his aviation activities and turned to building and flying sport planes such as his Thorp T-18 completed in 1994.
