Col. Hennighausen was employed by the Glenn L. Martin Company from 1940 to 1968. A graduate of the University of Maryland's School of Engineering, Col. Hennighausen was the Senior Engineer on Martin's Advanced Design Team, aka "the Skunk Works." He contributed to such projects as the X-24 Lifting Body, the PVM, the Vanguard and Titan II boosters, the Lunar Lander and VSTOL.
