    Mr. Baron was an engineering manager in avionics at Kollsman Instruments Corporation, where he had worked for 30 years. He was responsible for development of numerous aircraft instruments, including altimeters widely used in commercial and general aviation. Unique aspects of his designs were covered by United States patents. Throughout his career, he was also an active contributor to both U.S. and International standards, for example in areas of flight safety, air traffic control, environmental conditions and test procedures for airborne equipment. Mr. Baron first became involved in aeronautics during World War II, initially with production of bomb sights and later with his enlistment In the U.S. Army Air Corps.
