Completed Marine Crops Basic School in March 1951. Assigned as an artillery forward observer in Korea. The combat tour in Korea was followed by flight training. Numerous flying billets followed including the Navy Test Pilot School and a two-year tour in evaluation of operational aircraft. Commanded a Marine A4 Squadron in Vietnam and many other Marine Corps flying billets.
