Col. Brandt served thirty years in the USAF from December 1959 through December 1989. During his career he flew five combat aircraft over a 25 year period in the Cold War and Southeast Asia. These include the B-52G, the F-4C, D, & E, the A-7D, the 0-2A, and the A-10. His assignments ranged from a pilot at the squadron, to command of a squadron, and the 343 Tactical Fighter Wing, to being a Deputy Director on the Air Staff and for the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
