Served in United States Air Force from 1940 until 1961. He was a flight instructor at Randolph Field, Texas and at Kelly Field, Texas from 1941 until 1944. Then he was Commander of a B-29 crew and served in World War II in the Pacific until the war ended.
He then continued serving until his retirement in 1961.
He passed away in January 1979 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
