    USAF 1951-1977. Graduated Pilot training Feb., 1953. Aircraft flown: T-6 and B-25, HU(SA)-16 Amphibian, C-47, C-45, L-20, C-135, C-141 and T-39. Assignments included: Air Rescue Service (1953-1961) in Morocco, New York, Texas, Japan and as an advisor and instructor pilot to the Nationalist Chinese Air Force in Taiwan. Military Airlift Command (1961-1977) at Travis AFB, California. Flew world wide cargo, passenger, medical evacuation and VIP missions, including 150 combat support missions in Vietnam. In 1965, flew Bob Hope and his troupe to Vietnam for his Christmas show. While still at Travis, became C-141 standardization officer at HQ, 22nd AF. During the Vietnam War, was stationed in Bangkok, Thailand in the Airlift Command Post. Assigned to MAC Hq. Inspector General Office at Scott AFB, Illinois. Later became Commander of the 41st Airlift Sqdn. (C-141), Charleston AFB, South Caroline. Retired after four years as Base Commander in Charleston.
