    Born 22 March 1920 in Washington, DC. Enlisted in the flying cadets 10 March1942. Graduated as pilot, 2nd Lt. 14 Jan. 1943. Flew B-26s, B-24s and B-29s during WWII as Aircraft Commander, instructor pilot and flight examiner. While flying with the 8th Air Force in England, was shot down by enemy flak, parachuted into Occupied France, evaded capture by the Germans and joined the French Resistance. Fought the Germans and participated in the liberation of several towns, then made my way back through war torn Normandy and back to England. Was repatriated and returned to duty. From 1946 to 1971 served as Operations and Training Officer, Flight Safety Officer also Instructor Pilot and Flight Examiner. Retired 15 May, 1974.
