Col. Freely served 30 years in the Air National Guard/Air Force Reserve in combat communications, involving both technical and command positions.
He also pursued a parallel aerospace career as an RF/microwave electronics engineer and program manager, and was associated with communications, radar, and electronic warfare programs from concept through field support.
His contributions to high power microwave and transmitter technology were highly recognized.
