Enlisted in U. S. Army Air Force, Dec. 14, 1942. Entered aviation cadet program 1943. Graduated pilot, single engine , Craig Field, AL June 1944. Served in ETO ‘44-‘45. Southwest Pacific ‘46-‘47. Left service ’47 for school and flew with the Georgia Air National Guard ’48-‘50/ Recalled for Korea 1950. Sent back to Europe for NATO. Lead the USAFE Aerial Demonstration Team “The Skyblazers” 1953-55 in F-84s & F-86s. Became a regular officer. Flew 152 missions in Vietnam at 48-49 years of age. Retired Jan 1974 as regular colonel.
