Enlisted 3-15-42 for pilot training. Got wings 3-24-43 (went on to become a test pilot and flight instructor). January 1, 1944 sent to SW Pacific until 7-24-45 (was Flight Commander & then became the Squadron Commander; flew over 362 combat hours.) Served in increasing positions around the world (Italy, Hawaii, Germany and numerous stateside assignments) and retired from the Air Force as a Colonel.
Aircraft flown: A-20, B-25, P-61, C-47, P-51, P-47, TBM, P-80, T-33, F-86, F-4, T-39.
