    Born on April 24, 1942 in Brownsville, TN. Graduated from Memphis State University with bachelor's degree in English and history and was awarded Who's Who in American Universities and Colleges. Received commission through AFROTC and entered under graduate pilot training at Laredo, TX.

    Assignments included:

    - Randolph AFB, TX
    - George AFB, CA
    - DaNang AB, Vietnam
    - Ubon RTAFB, Thailand
    - Pentagon
    - Homestead AFB, FL
    - Canberra, Australia
    - Camp Smith, HI
    - Hickam AFB, HI
    - Langley AFB, VA
    - Ft Leavenworth, KS.

    In combat he flew as F-4 fast Forward Air Controller for 901.2 combat hours and 482 combat missions, 115 of them over North Vietnam.

    At the Pentagon he served in Legislative Liaison and as Executive Officer to a general officer.

    He has the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 19 oak leaf clusters, and Vietnam Service Medal with 11 bronze stars.
