    I953-1954: Served as Chief, Air Defense Laboratory, Rome Air Development Center involved in the first use of the digital computer in air defense.
    1955-1957: Served as Asst Chief of Ballistic Missile Defense Office (ARDC) and directed the development of the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS).
    1958-196l: Directed the preparation of the Lunar Reconnaissance portion of the Man-in-Space Development Plan at the Air Force Ballistic Missile Division (before NASA was formed); organized and directed the first joint Air Force-Army Communications Satellite Program; organized and directed the first Advanced Research and Development program when the Air Force Ballistic Missile Division became a separate operating division of the Air Force Research and Development Command.
