“Maurie” was the youngest Marine Pilot in WWII. At age 19-20 he had flown 58 missions in the Pacific theatre. He was a reserve and was called for active duty in the Korean Conflict and served at Marine Hdqtrs during Vietnam. He was part of the JLRB group to write chapters on Vietnam while at McNair.
