Honored by:
Joined the Naval Air Corps in February 1941 and trained at Naval Air Station (NAS), Corpus Christi, Texas. Served as flight instructor after graduation. Sent to the Pacific Fleet in 1943 and served as the executive officer in Squadron VC 20 flying F4Fs and FM2 Wildcat aircraft. Awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.
After the war flew transports and in 1955 was commanding officer of VS 20 and VS 21. Flew WV-2 (Lockheed Warning Star) on the North Atlantic Barrier. Flew transports in VR-1 at Patuxent River NAS and NAS Norfolk were retiring in the 1970s.
