Set new records for time to climb 3000, 6000, and 9000 meters with a Sikorsky Flying Crane helicopter, December 1968. He was a pioneer in Army Aviation development, including armament of the CH34 with machine guns and rockets. Awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and two Federation Aeronautique Internationale Diplomas of Record.
