Since the age of 6 (1926), I have loved airplanes and wanted to fly. In my first year of college in 1939, I was offered the opportunity to enroll in the CPTP (Civilian Pilot Training Program) established by President Roosevelt. I completed the course and was awarded a Private Pilots License and decided to immediately join the Army Air Corps (June 1990). I was rejected for color perception. Because I wanted to be near airplanes I decided to enlist and be an airplane mechanic. I kept my license current until 1982. I spent from August 21, 1940 to May 31, 1965 in the Air Force and retired as Chief Warrant Officer.
