Cynthia R Lyons (1946-2011) was a competitor in International Aerobatic Club, IAC, contests from 1997 to 2011.
She flew flew more than 70 contests, most in the Midwest, but some all over the USA, from New York to Arizona and from Minnesota to Florida. She progressed from Primary through Intermediate levels. She flew Citabria, Decathlon and Extra200 airplanes in competition. She loved cross country flights at low altitude for sightseeing in the US, Canada, and Mexico, and particularly all along the east coast from New York to Florida. She became a National level Judge with IAC, and helped younger people get involved with aviation with her infectious constant enthusiasm.
