As an aerospace engineer-scientist Cynthia's role in space science projects and devotion to duty in the accomplishment of the mission of the Office of Space Sciences, NASA Headquarters, and her tireless energy and achievements in the design and development of the C-17 Globemaster military cargo aircraft at the Douglas Aircraft Company contributed directly and substantially to the advancement of science and technology of space flight and aviation. Cynthia's unswerving loyalty, steadfast courage and leadership contributed to the development and preservation of aviation and space exploration heritage for the benefit of future generations.
