Dan was born April 17, 1924 in Toledo, OH. After graduating from high school in 1942, he enlisted in Army Air Corps and went to Radio Operator’s School at Truax Field, then to Aviation Cadets School and went to Aerial Gunnery School in Las Vegas and Bombardier School in Carlsbad, New Mexico (Class 44-2). He then served with 493rd Bomb Squadron, 7th Bomb Group, and 10th Air Force in CBI as a Bombardier flying over 300 hours. Married to Shirley Ashton in 1946. Graduate of Toledo University with BBA.
