Honored by:
Sharon Abrams
David A. Abrams was born in 1933 to a family of modest means. He worked hard, and was able to put himself through college and obtain a degree in mechanical engineering. An interest in airplanes led him to a career in aerospace engineering, where he worked on the development of engines for critical projects of the US Air Force. The soul of integrity, he was the resident skeptic on every project, making each better by identifying flaws and errors. He is one of the unsung heroes who helped give the US Air Force the best aircraft in the world. More important to him, he was also a loyal husband, devoted father and doting grandfather. He died in 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer, leaving as his legacy an example of how to live a good and honorable life.
